A chrome denture is a removable partial denture built on a cast cobalt chrome framework. Replacement teeth are set into gum-coloured acrylic on the metal base, and small clasps or rests hold the denture securely against your own teeth.
Because metal is far stronger than acrylic, the framework can be made much thinner. For an upper denture this often means less of the roof of your mouth is covered, which many patients find more comfortable and better for tasting hot and cold food.
